Carrer de Badajoz, a street in Barcelona. In the background you can see the Torre Agbar, a landmark skyscraper designed by architect Jean Nouvel. It is supposed to look like a geyser rising into the air (which I don't see), though the architect later described it as having a phallic character (which I do see).

Ronda del Litoral
Not sure where in Barcelona I took this photo. Probably on the Ronda del Litoral street. It is 2:30 minutes newer than yesterday's photo of El cap de Barcelona, so it must be nearby.

El cap de Barcelona

Montjuic Castle
Another photo of the Montjuic Castle (or Castell de Montjuïc, as it is known locally). This photo is of the inner court, part of which is now in use by a cafe, as you can see.
The weather looks a lot better than on yesterday's photo, even though both photos were taken on the same visit.

View from Montjuic Castle

Gran Teatre del Liceu
We spent a few days in Barcelona last week, so expect some Barcelona photos over the coming days (or maybe weeks). We kick off today with the opera house of Barcelona, on the famous Rambla boulevard. The building is officially known as the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

New developments on the Wilhelmina quay
The old Wilhelmina quay in Rotterdam, where the ships of the Holland America Line once set sail to Ellis Island, has been largely redeveloped over the last few years, with new offices and luxury apartments. Development is still continuing, as you can see on the photo.
On the right of the photo, between the two skyscrapers, you can just make out the former head office of the Holland America Line.

Another photo from the Boompjes Boulevard in Rotterdam. This time with our back to the skyscrapers, and facing the river Meuse. On the right we see the Erasmus bridge, connecting the Boompjes boulevard with the Wilhelmina quay.

My first camera
Don't laugh: This really is my first camera. I received it from an elderly relative when I was a child.
