Market stalls like these are quite common in the Philippines. I spotted this one, selling fruit and vegetables, along the road in downtown Tacloban City.

Banana transport

Banana transport

I spotted this jeepney while travelling on the island Leyte, in the Visayas region of the Philippines. I wonder how they can stack so many bananas on the roof of their vehicle, and then not lose any!

New year fruits

Still life with fruits

On New Year's Eve we have at least 13 different kinds of round fruits - a Filipino new year tradition. We start eating those on New Year's Day.

The photo shows a small selection of our fruits, including grapes and assorted berries. At the bottom are a few sharon fruits, something we never had before.

Fresh mango slices

Freshly sliced Filipino mangos

The first photo from our recent Philippines trip is this platter of freshly sliced mangoes. Yummy! These mangoes taste so much better than what's available here in Europe.
