Food stall
Small food stalls like this can be found in any town in the Philippines. They sell canned and bottled drinks, packaged snacks (like crips), and sometimes home-made delicacies.

A wreath for Rizal
Last year I shared a photo of a statue of Jose Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines. Today's photo shows a wreath for Rizal, on the pedestal of the same statue in Tacloban City.

Market stalls like these are quite common in the Philippines. I spotted this one, selling fruit and vegetables, along the road in downtown Tacloban City.

Banana transport
I spotted this jeepney while travelling on the island Leyte, in the Visayas region of the Philippines. I wonder how they can stack so many bananas on the roof of their vehicle, and then not lose any!

Japanese Peace Park
I took this photo in the Japanese Peace Park in Tacloban City, the Philippines.
The Japanese peace park also houses the statue of the Goddess of Peace, also known as the Japanese Madonna (not on this photo). The statue was a gift from Japan, as a symbol of peace and friendship - hence the name of this park.
The park is a popular with young, courting couples.
