I shared photos of Filipino tricycles and jeepneys before, but on the parking place of the Tacloban City town hall they were parked next to each other: A jeepney and a tricycle.

Bus terminal

The bus terminal of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, the Philippines. Officially it's called the Guiuan Integrated Transport Terminal. If you look carefully you can see buses, jeepneys and tricycles on the terminal.

Tricycle

A tricycle is a converted bicycle or scooter with sidecar. They are very popular in the Philippines, and used for public transport (as a cheap taxi), for transportation of almost any kind of goods, as an ambulant shop, or just for family use. I spotted this colorful tricycle in Carigara, a town in the province Leyte in the Visayas region.

Ambulant bakery store

I saw this ambulant vendor in the streets of a Visayan town. He had converted his tricycle (bicycle with sidecar) into a bakery store, selling mostly cakes and pastries.

A tricycle is basically a converted scooter with side-car and a roof. It is a common form of public transport in small and medium cities.

This tricycle was parked in front of the white Capitol building that houses the provincial government of Leyte.
